V-Plus Agritech is pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with Brite Solar from 1 Aug 22 to distribute transparent solar panels, also known as agricultural photovoltaics (Agri-PVs) to South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. For the first time, farmers need not choose between using their land for growing crops or energy generation—- they can do both. The potential of building net-zero farms is now a possibility. Land- scarce cities like Singapore can further extend its solar deployment to farmlands. With local farms struggling under the recent spike in energy prices, such an innovation might well help to ease operating costs. The Agri-PVs, known as ‘Solar Glass’ by Brite Solar, has won numerous European innovation awards and also received investments from the European Innovation Council.

Installing Agri-PV can drastically alleviate the energy cost for farming operations which is largely responsible for the high food prices we see today”.
The solar glass comes in various light transmittance ranging from 80% to 8% and power generation from 100Wp to 450Wp. This will allow the most suitable light transmittance to be matched to the needs of the crops grown by farmers. It has a high solar cell power conversion efficiency of >22%, which puts it in the league of top tier solar PVs.
